With a Little Luck brings out the Luck in all of us.

Well hi there!

From the brilliant mind of Marissa Meyer comes a phenomenal new addition to her Fortuna Beach collection, With a Little Luck. I was allowed to be on the ARC team. I am writing my review with my thoughts.

Jude comes from music-loving parents, which is where his name came from. If you haven’t guessed, The Beatles songs influence the names. Hence his name, from the song Hey Jude. If you haven’t listened, you need to. He is best friends with his twin sister Pru and best friend Ari. Pru began dating so her boyfriend and his best friend were added to the group. Jude has a mad crush on a classmate, which started back in 5th grade. He works at his parents' record shop and is a D&D Dungeon Master. One day, he goes to change out the record and comes across and beautiful d20 die. Odd things begin to happen while he has the d20 with him. He scores VIP tickets to the concert of the year and gets the confidence to ask out his crush, Maya. Ari is a staple in Jude’s life. She wants to become a songwriter and her music is wonderful. As the book progresses, Jude wonders if the luck is truly good for him.

Another one I could not put down. Marissa Meyer stole my heart with Cinder. I have a blanket from Litographs of Scarlet from her Lunar Chronicles. I have kept up with her work and With a Little Luck did not disappoint. I am a big fan of The Beatles and the songs she gets the title and names from just add to the story. Ari is wonderful and I truly enjoyed her character. Maybe it is the songwriter aspect or patience but I loved her. I am a big nerd and have slowly entered the D&D world, so having that as a big part of the book was awesome. It made me want to start my own virtual campaign with my friends all over.

I can’t say much about what I disliked. I think I was a little worried about the parents’ store because of Instant Karma, the first book in the Fortuna Beach series. And I didn’t feel like it was completely covered. But the reason could be that Jude didn’t know much about what was going on in the previous book.

I highly recommend this book. It is one I want to get physically so it can be on my shelf and I can gush about it when friends come over.

Read this book!!

Okay bye!

Ashleigh
