The Inheritance Games ends with Xander getting informed he had another game. Tobias wants him to find Tobias Hawthore II. Avery, Grayson and Jameson are in the same game, but they don’t talk with Xander, who is working with Rebecca and Thea. Neither knows the other is working toward the same goal. Avery found out that her friend “Harry” she used to play chess with is actually Toby, the missing uncle. Jameson and Avery make a wager in regards to the kiss in the Black Wood. She is constantly torn between two of the Hawthorne brothers. Avery’s dad shows back up to try to be a part of Avery’s life as well as dating Skye Hawthorne, the brothers’ mom. The book continues with all the twists and turns readers have come to love with Jennifer’s writing. Avery is able to make contact with her best friend Max and they make amends. Finally, Avery, Jameson, Xander, Rebecca and Thea all end up working together to figure out the Harry/Toby mystery. As they continue to search for clues, the puzzles Tobias Sr. created are sending them to all ends of the earth.
I am once again in love with the Hawthornes and Avery. So many different directions to be pulled at once. I feel like Jennifer does a great job at her character growth for all the main characters. I feel as though she does a magnificent job at creating a place where the puzzles and amazements will never cease. Her ability to do that is what draws readers back to her books.
I will for sure continue to recommend this series.
