Of Shadows & Fae

Of Shadows & Fae by Jen L. Grey was recently released!! It is another installment of the Forgotten Kingdoms. Ivy is taken from a party in Vegas and dropped in to a place completely beyond her comprehension. The weather, the verbage and all the other things are confusing. She just wants to head back to her world. She ends up in a meeting with the council and foreboding King of the Winter Fae. She is drawn to him but irritated with his personality. She has trust issues. Her human background colors her entire experience. King Kieran has history with Ivy’s past self. It jades him. They end up having to join a competition to take the open council seat. It's so entertaining to read how that goes.

Jen always does a wonderful job with the worlds she creates. I'm so glad she is a part of this collaborative. Her depiction of Fae lands is beautiful. As I read about the flowers, smells and atmosphere, I found myself taking deep breaths and my shoulders dripping. It was relaxing to me as well as a little jealousy inducing. I always fall for how she creates her worlds. They are beautiful. And her characters. Gosh. The spunky heroine is wonderful! So much sass and also sense of right and wrong in a land of hazy morals. Also, the names. Very Irish in origin, which I am a sucker for. The book ties in well with the Forgotten Kingdoms world and I can't wait to see what comes next! READ THIS BOOK!

Until Next Book,

Ashleigh
